Senior Iranian commander Major General Qassem Soleimani announced on Tuesday that the self-proclaimed caliphate of the Wahhabi Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group has formally collapsed after recapture of its last stronghold in Syria.

Soleimani, who commands the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), has congratulated Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on the collapse of the Takfiri terror group in Iraq and Syria.

Addressing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the commander declared that the notorious group’s rule has come to an end with the accomplishment of a mission to liberate Syria’s eastern city of Abu Kamal, near the Iraqi border.

Speaking on behalf of all commanders and forces fighting against terrorism, thousands of Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, Lebanese, Afghan, and Pakistani martyrs and those handicapped in defending the life and dignity of Muslims and their sanctities, the top general congratulated Ayatollah Khamenei, the Iranian nation, the people of Iraq and Syria, and all Muslims on the fall of Daesh.

Soleimani pointed out that under the name of the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, the evil movement of Daesh  “managed, in the early months, to deceive tens of thousands of Muslim youth from both countries, causing a very dangerous crisis for the influential and crucial countries of the Islamic world: Iraq and Syria.”

he further explained that “They occupied hundreds of thousands of square kilometers of land from these countries along with thousands of villages, towns, and provincial centers; they destroyed thousands of factories, manufactures, and major infrastructure of these countries--including roads, bridges, refineries, wells, gas and oil lines, and power plants; they destroyed or burned important cities with valuable historical monuments and national civilizations by bombing them.

Although it is not possible to calculate all the damage caused yet, the preliminary investigation estimates damages to be around $500 billion.”

He moreover elaborated on the horrible crimes that were carried out saying “During these six years, extremely horrendous crimes that could not be shown were carried out, which included the decapitation of children, skinning men alive before their families, taking young girls and women hostage and raping them, burning people alive and group massacres of hundreds of young people.”

“More than 6,000 young people, deceived in the name of defending Islam, blew themselves up by way of suicide bombings, using explosive vehicles at city squares, mosques, schools, even hospitals and public places of Muslims; as a result of these criminal acts, tens of thousands of innocent men, women, and children were martyred,” he also reminded.

General Soleimani also greeted the victory as a result of favor of God, wise leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei, smart guidance offered by top Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali al-Sistani, the fortitude shown by the different Arab government and non-state actors.

The General explained “The resistance of the Iraqi and Syrian governments and the perseverance of the armies and youths of these two countries, especially the holy Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Al-Hashd Al-Sha'abi, and other Muslim youth from other countries with the prominent presence of Hezbollah led by its great leader, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, played an important role in overturning this dangerous event.”

"...Having accomplished the Abu Kamal liberation operation, the ISIS's last stronghold (in Syria), pulling down the US-Zionist (ISIS) group's flag and hoisting the Syrian flag, I declare the end of" ISIS control, General Soleimani concluded.

On November 19, Daesh terrorists were flushed out of their last stronghold in Syria’s Albu Kamal. Liberation of the city marked an end to the group’s self-proclaimed caliphate it had declared in 2014.
