There are a number of opportunities MKO is exploiting in order to restart its political activities against the Iranian government now that they are residing in Albania. Recent propaganda efforts by the group’s leader, Maryam Rajavi, the widow of the founder of MKO, Massoud Rajavi, suggest that she sees herself as a key actor in fostering the opposition in Iran and subsequently bringing down the current government.
The terrorist group, which was listed as a terrorist organization in the US and Europe, had collaborated with the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during his imposed war on Iran in the 1980s in addition to killing as many as 12,000 Iranians in a violent campaign of terrorist bombings and assassination across the Islamic Republic and Iraq. The group is strongly by the Iranian people and is seen as a group that is active in aggressive secretive acts of bloodshed and violence.
The Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MEK or MKO) is a destructive mind control cult which the United States is using to implement a regime change policy in Iran, a former long-time MKO member says.
In September 2018, former MKO member Ebrahim Khodabandeh told sources that MKO is financed by the Saudis, publicized by the Israelis and is following America’s agenda.
“I have been a member of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization or MEK for more than 23 years. Their aim from the start was to gain power in Iran and it has not changed since then. But the MEK is a mind control destructive cult and all such cults believe that the end justifies the means,” Khodabandeh said.
The group has gathered significant support from important US leaders who do not shy away from expressing their support for MKO’s potential rise as Iran’s future so-called “democratic government”. This sentiment is frequently expressed on a number of occasions when important figures of the US political landscape have personally visited Albania and spoken at rallies organized by MKO in Tirana. Again, such sentiments come at the time the Iranian people do not appreciate the terrorist group. US figures such as John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani, one of President Trump’s most trusted advisors and personal lawyer, and late U.S. Senator John McCain, were present at some of these ceremonies to provide support to the terrorist group.
Questions now remain on what operations are the MKO planning to carry out, and whether some soon events will unravel. It is worth noting that the MKO’s presence and activities may have serious repercussions for Albania and Albanian policy-makers and not only for Iran.
The MKO is listed as a terrorist organization by much of the international community but there is no end in sight for its terrorist operations against the Iranian nation.
